With the bookplate of Douglas Scott. Douglas Scott was on the 1950 Scottish Himalayan expedition with W. H. Murray, Tom MacKinnon and Tom Weir. This expedition was a four-month, 450-mile trek during which they reached seven summits, including the 20,350ft Uja Tirche, and this did much to help blaze the trail for the conquest of Everest three years later. Scott first cast eyes on the mighty Himalayas while on leave during his wartime army service in India. An interesting association copy.
