With over 70 photographic studies by the author. Reginald Alfred Malby, 1882-1924, was one of the greatest Horticultural photographers of the century. This his second book was a guided tour of the Bernese Oberland, led by the Rev. Canon Horsley, which provided the base for his first forays into real plant photography. His father, H.T. Malby, was an established photographer, and ‘Malby & Son’, rapidly established themselves as the country’s leading specialists in plant photography, catering for the needs of a wide variety of associations, including the Orchid, Daffodil, Chrysanthemum, National Rose and Dahlia Societies, as well as being appointed official photographers at the R.H.S. and Chelsea Flower Shows. Malby became the youngest person to become a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society (F.R.P.S.), the highest level of membership to this noble photographic establishment.
